Tadorna Press, founded in 2014 by author and businessman Mack Travis, is named after the common Tadorna shelducks, also known as sheldrakes—colorful, often semi-terrestrial waterfowl. Mack and his wife Carol live at Sheldrake Point on Cayuga Lake, near Ithaca, New York.
Originally founded to publish his own books, Tadorna Press has expanded to include other authors—and a wide range of genres—from non-fiction and memoirs to poetry and children’s books.
Mack’s first book, Creating an Independent Income in Real Estate!, tells his story of combining business and meditation as a recipe for personal success and happiness. His second book, Expansion of Happiness takes a common-sense look at the Transcendental Meditation technique founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. His third and most recent book, Shaping a City—Ithaca, New York: a Developer’s Perspective, published by Cornell Publishing, an Imprint of Cornell University Press, explores his involvement in the progressive real estate development of Ithaca, New York—frequently voted one of the best small cities in the United States.
Books by other authors published by Tadorna Press include Lyrics in Search of Music, Through the Eyes of Priya, and River Sojourn.
Visions of a Quantum Woman and The Life of Christ are forthcoming.
